What Studying Your Passion Feels Like
The pure joy you get every single day
I am a person who loves the social sciences. And thankfully, the education system has a course for people like me, who would rather learn about the history and geography of the world we call home. I wasn't aware what I wanted to study until I was in 9th grade. Till then, I just studied because that was my job. But it was then I realized that I didn't particularly like math and science. Sure, sometime they are fun, but it didn't make sense to me much. And that's when I realized I had to go forward with what I preferred when I reached 11th grade.
Enter—Humanities. The mere thought of the subjects included in humanities fill me with joy. With history, you can learn about the past. The civilizations from which our society evolved, the great wars, and so on. With geography, you learn how the world works. The different land forms, the structures, the area and what not. With economics, you get to study how a country operates. The way money is spent and everything related to the economy. I wish I had politics, but different schools have different subjects, and I'm happy with what I have.
Today, while I was sitting in geography class, I couldn't help myself but smile. For, I was finally sitting in front of a projector with a teacher that taught enthusiastically about what made sense to me. I always find myself smiling while I sit in class as I study things that I've always wanted to study.
What I want to say is that please study what you want to study. Studying your passion is a different kind of joy. It's the type of joy you get the day after you complete your final exam. The joy you get when you are vacationing at some magical place. The joy you get when you know you can live a tension-free life.
For studying what you want to study gives you freedom, the freedom of standing on your own soil, your own domain, knowing very well that you can manage. That how much ever effort you have to put, you can do that happily.
Viva la vida—live life.
